Agape is a church family in Durham Region. Some of us have followed Jesus for decades, some are returning to church after a long time away, and some are simply curious.
Whatever brings you, you will find people glad to see you, Scripture taught with care, prayer and worship that make room for God, and friendships that last beyond Sunday.
You do not need to be Anglican, or even sure what you believe, to belong here.

Reflecting the love of Christ in our relationships and community.
We love because he first loved us. That love shapes how we welcome a stranger, forgive a friend and care for a neighbour.

Growing as disciples who listen to and live according to God's Word.
Faith is more than attending church. It is listening for God in Scripture and letting his Word order our choices, Monday as much as Sunday.

Recognizing the God-given worth and purpose of every person.
Every person is made in the image of God. Age, background and story do not change that worth, and each of us has something to contribute.

Honouring God by giving our best in worship, character, and service.
God is worthy of our best, so we offer it: in how we worship, in the character we are growing, and in the way we serve.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”1 John 4:7
Agape is the New Testament word for the love of God: love that gives first and keeps no score. It is the love we have received in Jesus, and the love we are learning to show one another and our neighbours in Durham Region.

Worship, fellowship, prayer, and a family to belong to.
We gather in person for worship in the Anglican way: Scripture read and preached, prayers offered together, and a welcome at the door for whoever walks through it. Midweek, we open the Bible together online, from wherever people are.
