About Us

A Christ-centred community in Durham Region.

Rooted in the love of Christ, growing together in Durham.

A welcome from Rev. Sam

A place to belong. A family to grow with. A faith to live out.

Welcome to Agape Anglican Church, Durham Region!

We are a Christ-centred, Bible-believing, and loving community of people growing together in faith, hope, and love.

At Agape, we believe that church is more than a building, a Sunday gathering, or a religious obligation. Church is a family, a place of encounter with God, a community of belonging, and a people called to make a difference in the world.

We recognize that everyone is on a journey. Some are deeply rooted in their faith, others are rediscovering their relationship with God, and some are simply searching for answers to life's biggest questions.

Wherever you are on that journey, we want you to know that there is room for you here.

Rooted in the rich heritage of the Anglican tradition and committed to the transforming power of God's Word, we seek to raise disciples who know Christ, grow in His likeness, and reflect His love in their families, workplaces, and communities.

Our desire is not simply to gather a congregation, but to build a community of disciples whose lives demonstrate the character, compassion, and excellence of Jesus Christ.

Here, you will find opportunities for meaningful worship, sound biblical teaching, genuine fellowship, spiritual growth, and service to others.

We do not claim to be a perfect church. We are a community of imperfect people being transformed by the grace of a perfect God.

Come as you are. Encounter God's love. Discover your purpose. Grow with us.

We look forward to welcoming you into the Agape family.

With love and prayers,Rev. Ayooluwa Samuel Adisa, Rector

From our Identity series

LoveObedienceValueExcellence

Four words sit beneath our name. They are the four cardinal values we focused on in our Identity series: not a description of what we have achieved, but of who God says we are and who he is making us to be. We are growing into them together.

Love

Loved first

Agape begins with God. We love because he first loved us, and we are learning to love one another and our neighbours the same way.

“We love because he first loved us.”1 John 4:19

Obedience

Called to trust

Following Christ means living according to God's Word, not merely attending church. We want to trust his Word enough to order our lives around it.

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”John 14:15

Value

Made in his image

Every person matters. Made in the image of God, each of us has God-given worth and something meaningful to contribute.

“So God created mankind in his own image.”Genesis 1:27

Excellence

Made to offer our best

We honour God by giving our best in worship, service, character and everything we do, not to impress anyone, but because he is worthy of it.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”Colossians 3:23

What we hope you will find
